Wing Chun's Kicks
Wing Chun basic kicks include the low heel kick, stomping kick, snap kick, low side kick, medium side kick, medium thrusting kick and low and medium hook kicks. At an advanced level students are taught leg deflection and trapping, involving sweeping, bong leg locking and attacks such as "Chain Kicking" - a rapid barrage of three or more powerful low kicks, delivered in under a second to targets such as the knee, groin and midsection. In many of the Wing Chun bong gerk and yup gerks with counter kicks, the low heel is used for striking especially at close range it is very effective against most kicks, this is mainly because if you use the centre of the foot to the heel it will result in maximum impact to the opponent, using an angular low heel kick also protects you centre line and attacks to the genitals, The mid of the foot to the heel is very strong and takes good impact. Overall it is important to apply kicking techniques and have it coordinated with stepping and punching simultaneously to become more effective when attacking
